GM Poles were engaged to design and supply 18 heavy-duty poles to support catenary wires at Beenleigh Town Square.
The catenary wires hold 457 Aluminium discs which feature designs from local artists; Madhu Khanna and June Hintz.
This impressive system provides a creative and attractive shade structure for the community to enjoy. The new community hub was also named as an official Olympic Live fan venue with the Tokyo Olympics being shown each day on the square’s big screen.
Catenary poles are one of the most challenging in terms of engineering design. We calculate the weight and sail area of the wires & accessories, as well as the direction, span, and strain placed on each wire. All these details are considered by our experienced in-house engineers to ensure the product we supply is structurally suitable and safe for the community.
